What's wrong with your shutter?

It's jammed or comes down crooked
This is usually down to a displaced slat, a bent guide rail or a build-up of dirt. If it's stuck halfway, don't force it: pulling on the strap can break the axle or the slats.
It has come loose inside the shutter box
When the clips that attach the shutter to the axle come off, the shutter curtain drops and hangs loose. We open the inspection cover, reattach it and check the rest of the mechanism.
Broken slats or slats out of the guide rail
A knock, the wind or simply the passing years can bend or crack the slats. We replace only the damaged parts, including the bottom slat, without replacing the whole shutter.
Damaged axle, pulley or brackets
If it's noisy, hard to raise or sagging to one side, the problem is usually the axle, the pulley or the brackets in the shutter box. We check them and replace whatever's needed.
The electric shutter doesn't respond
The fault could be the motor, the wall switch, the remote control or the limit switch settings. We check each part before suggesting you replace anything.

Is it worth repairing your shutter, or is it better to replace it?
In most cases, repairing is the cheapest option: the strap, winder, slats or axle can each be replaced separately. Replacing the whole shutter is mainly worth it when:
- Many of the slats are cracked, faded or warped.
- Faults keep coming back every so often.
- You want better insulation or security, or a different material.
- The shutter box or guide rails are badly worn.

There's no single price: replacing a strap isn't the same as replacing an axle or a motor. That's why we assess each case and give you a fixed quote before we touch anything.
If you send us a photo or video, we can give you an idea of the fault and the approximate cost before the visit. The final price mainly depends on:

- The material and size of the shutter.

How much does it cost to repair a roller shutter?
It depends on the fault and the type of shutter. We assess the case, ideally from a photo or video, and give you a no-obligation fixed quote before we start.
Can you repair the shutter on the same day?
Whenever possible, yes. If you describe the fault when you get in touch, we bring the usual parts to fix it on the same visit. If a specific part is needed, we'll tell you how long it will take.
My shutter is stuck. Should I force it?
Better not. Pulling on the strap or pushing the slats can break the axle, the winder or the slats themselves and make the repair more expensive. Leave it as it is and message us.
Do you repair electric shutters?
Yes. We check the motor, the wall switch, the remote control and the limit switches. If the motor can't be fixed, we replace it with one that's compatible with your shutter.
Does the shutter box need to be opened for the repair?
For many faults, yes, because the axle, pulley and clips are inside. We open it through the inspection cover and close it up properly when we've finished.
